SPORTS PHYSICALS are often required
before students can participate in school sports.
To make it easier for students and parents,
PeaceHealth Medical Group (PHMG) provided
sports physicals at three convenient locations
in August.
During this annual event, PHMG offers
low-cost sports physicals to student athletes in
Cottage Grove, Creswell, Dexter, Oakridge and
Pleasant Hill.
Each exam costs only $20, and all money
raised is donated to local high schools to fund
scholarships, replace equipment and cover fees
for students who would otherwise not be able
to participate in sports programs.
Each year, more than 230 physical exams
are performed at PHMG’s sports physical event,
raising nearly $5,000 for the local school sports
programs.
If you missed this year’s event and your child
needs a sports physical to participate in athletics,
please contact his or her physician’s office to
make an appointment. Your child’s doctor can
conduct a physical as part of a well-child exam.
